The Blue Ox Diamond Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part # DH1202 is a fit for your 1996 Ford F-350 diesel with a crew cab and 4-wheel drive. This hitch has a 30000 lb gross towing capacity and a 7500 lb tongue weight capacity but you will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the truck towing capacity.
This hitch allows you to store the ball upside down which will give you full use of your truck bed. this includes all the mounting hardware and is customized to fit your truck. No welding is required.
I recommend using Loctite Threadlocker 262, part # LT37420 on all bolts during the installation.
You will want to install wiring in your bed for your gooseneck trailer. I recommend the7-Way Pre-Wired Car Connector, 7' Lead # 20023. This is hardwired into the truck wiring and has a bracket that is used to mount the 7-way connector in the bed of your truck.
When wiring any vehicles, you will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. You always want to test wires by function and not just by wire color alone.
