Low Voltage Signal on Curt Echo
Question:
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Dmax towing a camper. When I first hooked it up everything went smooth app worked great. Now our past 3 times towing everything still hooks up fine lights on the unit are all flashing properly trailer lights work but the app is reading vehicle low battery and when I apply the brakes the app blinks electrical overload brake inspection recommended. It feels as though the trailer brakes are applying just fine. Ive tried re downloading the app nothing seems to fix it. A camper store took a look at the trailer brakes they said everything looks fine. Any ideas?

Thank you for your purchase directly from etrailer of the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180. If the low voltage is flashing, as well as the overload, there is a problem either with the 7-way connector on your trailer or Chevy, or a wiring issue with the blue brake wire.
So you need to first check the brake wire as even if the brakes themselves are fine the wire could be somehow nicked or damaged. But also check your truck and trailer 7-way connectors for corrosion, which can be green or white in color. A build-up of corrosion can interfere with the signals getting through the connectors so if it is present you are going to need to replace the plug with # 18004 for the trailer side or # 30955 for your truck.
