Can Breakaway Battery of Electric Over Hydraulic System be Charged in Storage
Question:
I am considering electric over hydraulic on a boat trailer. The issue is, that trailer will sit long periods of time without Being used as boat is kept on lift. But when I do pull the boat and trailer it, I want something more than surge breaks as it’s a heavy rig 9000 lbs I’m concerned about the emergency breakaway battery. Is there a way to keep it charged with a trickle charger?

You can definitely use trickle chargers to keep the breakaway battery of the EOH setup topped off when in storage. We have kits designed for marine applications like the Hydrastar part # HS381-9067 for if it's disc brakes or part # HS381-9066 if it's drum brakes.
You could use a charger like the part # NOC54FR to keep the battery topped off.
