Installing a Curt 59187 Powered Tailight Converter in a 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300

Question:

hello Dear I have 2008 mercedes C300. Want to install Curt- powered taillight converter kit 59187 model. What is the color code for right turn, left turn, stop/tail light wire on the vehicle side? The right side connector on the vehicle has the following color. 1-Brown. 2- black and green. 3-brown and black. 4-green and white. 5-yellow and black. 6- blue. 7- grey and yellow. On the Left or driver side: 1-Brown. 2-black and white. 3-Black and blue. 4-green and blue. 5- black and red. 6- red. 7- grey and blue. the converter colors are right turn is green, left turn is yellow, brake signal is red, Tail light is brown. Also white is ground to the body and black wire need to be connected to + battery with a fuse 10A. thank you for your help. 4Matic

We do not carry the 59187 converter you mentioned, so I am not familiar with it. That being said though, when dealing with wiring like that, you often times cannot match color to color. You need to match function to function. This means you will need a circuit tester # PTW2993 to test for function.

Locate the wiring and then have someone run through the turn signals, brake lights and running lights while the circuit tester is being used on the wires to find find the wire receiving the signal/power. You may also be able to locate some wiring information in the owners manual for your C300.
