Can I Use the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger for Charging a Towed Vehicle Battery?

Question:

Hello, I set up our 2013 Chevy Equinox LT 4 cylinder SUV to be towed behind our 2017 Holiday Rambler 33C with a combination of Demco Duo Stay-N-Play and Roadmaster parts as recommended by your company. Everything went well installation wise but we are having a problem of a dead battery on the Equinox after approx. 2 hours of flat towing. We did everything the Chevy manual says to do for flat towing and also have a functioning charge wire through 7 pin from the motorhome going to the 6 pin on the towed vehicle. Had the battery tested and it is good. I see from the RV forums that the Equinox draws more power than just about any towed vehicle out there. Would the Redarc RED96FR solve my issue with the dead battery? Or do you have any other suggestion? Thanks

Yes, you can use the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger item # RED96FR to keep your Equinox battery from dying when you are flat towing it. You may want to check the pin the charge line is connected to on your motorhome's 7-way first along with the pin on your 6-way. It is designed to be wired into the pin at your 1'oclock on the 7-way and the center pin on your 6-way. You could just have something connected wrong.
