Does the Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack Fit a Class I Hitch?
Question:
Can you confirm whether the Yakima Y02480 can fit Class I hitch, or only Class II? You currently list in the specs that it is Class II only. However, the manufacturer says nothing about this on their own web site, and your experts have answered previous questions and stated in a video review that it fits either Class I or II. I have a 2012 Ford Focus 5-door with a Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I hitch. The heaviest bike I own is 35 pounds. I can be sure to stay under the 200 lb tongue weight rating of the hitch. I want to know if there will be a mechanical fit problem.

Class II only. Yakima has the specifications hidden on their website but I took a screenshot and attached it below. The Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack item # Y02480 only fits a class II 1-1/4" hitch.
Since your car is a 2012 with a class I hitch it most likely has a weld stop in place that will prevent you from using this bike rack, or any other class II one, no matter how light your bikes are. Instead, I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack item # KU74FR. This is a similar wheel mount style bike rack. It has a 40 lbs per bike capacity and will work great with your class I hitch.
I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this bike rack being demonstrated. Feel free to email me directly if you have additional questions.
