Troubleshooting Brake Buddy Classic 3 Transmitter Loose and Not Transmitting
Question:
I own a brake buddy. I tow a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summitt behind my 2016 Tiffin Phaeton. All is working well. I noticed this time trip that my sending unit one the brake buddy is very loose. I dont believe it sent any message to the part that is connected to cigarette lighters in the RV. Should the sender be loose?

It sounds like you're talking about the transmitter that plugs in on top of the Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494. There will be some movement with the transmitter but your description of "very loose" doesn't sound right.
When I reached out to the manufacturer they had no reports of this or any idea why it would be loose. The only thing I can think of is if the transmitter was hit and the prongs were bent causing it to not fit as well as it should. I would inspect them to see if they look bent or damaged. If you find that they are and it is no longer sending a signal you can replace the alert system with the # BB28MR.
