How to Install Grease Cap for 2.44" Hub Bore
Question:
Dust cap/grease cover 2.44, my trailer has the thinner lip that goes into the bearing housing, all the covers that Ive bought have a thicker lip that just will not go in. The measurements appear to be the same but apparently there is a slight difference. Can you help me with the right part?

If your trailer hub bore measures 2.44" but has a slightly tighter tolerance than the Grease Cap, 2.44" OD Drive In with Plug # RG04-080 allows, then you might need to press in the flange a little prior to installation. Grease caps are designed to fit really snug so they don't fall off during transit so they can sometimes be frustrating to install initially.
You also might try lightly tapping in a circular pattern around the grease cap until it is fully seated.
