Recommended 12" x 2" Brake Assemblies For A Homemade Trailer

Question:

I have a utility trailer which Im pretty sure is home made. It has Dayton wheels, and the electric brakes have no backing. Do you have a replacement brake setup. They are electric and are 12" wide x 2" deep.

For 12" x 2" drum brake assemblies I have two options for you. The first option being the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-6, which are manual adjust. This means that you'll regularly have to adjust the brake pads as they wear down over time. Option 2 would be the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-7-SA, which will automatically adjust as the pads wear down. Both opions will require an initial "bedding" process to adjust the brake shoes to the correct position.
