Tip for Removing Stuck B and W Companion Hitch in Turnoverball Rail Kit

Question:

I’m trying to remove my hitch. The top was not a problem but the base is stuck. I have loosened the torque bolt and pulled and turned the handle in the wheel well. It turned about an eighth turn and remains in the out and turned position. The base is now loose but something is still holding it. What next?

Sometimes with a fifth wheel hitch is stuck (typically a gooseneck ball) the easiest solution to getting it unstuck is to connect it to a trailer and then use the jacks of the trailer to lift it out of the rail kit. So you'd need to put the head of your # BWRVK3500 back on the hitch and be near a fifth wheel trailer to pull this off but it is the most painless way typically.

Other times just dousing the assembly with spray lube like WD40 works to free things up.
