The padlocks included in the Roadmaster Accessory Kit for Nighthawk and Sterling Tow Bars # RM-9284-2 replace the safety pins connecting the tow bar to the vehicle base plate. This helps secure your vehicle to the tow bar while the tow bar is locked in place with the included hitch pin. If you are using a crossbar style base plate one lock will attach the tow bar to the crossbar and the other lock will need to replace the pin holding the cross bar to the vehicle mounts.
