Will the Thule Insta-Gater Pro or a Ladder Mount Bike Rack Fit a Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler Trailer

Question:

I am looking for a two bike rack for carrying bikes in the garage area of our Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler. Would prefer not to drill holes in the floor. The entire back wall is a loading ramp for hauling motorcycles, 4-wheelers, golf carts, etc. I plan to haul a Harley Davidson touring bike and two Trek bicycles. My ladder is on the side of my Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler RV. The RV is just of 8foot in width so I am concerned with adding anything that increases this width. Do you know how much two Trek 26inch bicycles mounted on this type of rack would add to the width?

A truck bed bike rack such as the Thule Insta-Gater Pro # TH93VR could work for you. Basically it works by running a strap through the gap between the ramp or tailgate and body. At the end of the strap is a cylinder that cannot fit through the small gap. You would need to have a side exit in order to install this rack because the ramp would have to be closed and then the straps tightened. Opening the ramp again to exit the trailer could affect the fit.

You also asked about using a ladder mount bike rack for the ladder on the trailer. A rack such as Surco rack # SP501BR holds the bikes vertically, not horizontally, so the width of the trailer would not be increased much if at all. This rack has a capacity of 75 pounds total.
