Do Safety Chains attach To Tow Bar or to Vehicles When Flat Towing
Question:
I have Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2 Ball - 5,000 lbs Item # C19745 The tow bar has the holes for the u bolts that I suspect are for the chain attachment but does not have the u-bolts. Do you sell the u-bolts? Or have the specs on them so I can find something elswhere? Also, do you have instructions on how to attach the chains with this tow bar? I have it on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Thanks

With tow bars like the Curt # C19745 you actually don't want to attach safety chains to the tow bar itself. Instead you would need to attach them to the vehicle frame and then to the towed vehicle hitch safety chain loops. This is so that if the tow bar was to fail the chains would be attached to something that wouldn't also have failed.
