Troubleshooting A Non-Working Indicator Light For The Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play Braking System

Question:

Good morning! I installed the Demco SBS Stay in play Duo supplement braking system. while performing the light and brake check before traveling I don’t get the red LED lights to come on that I mounted the back of the mirror in the tow vehicle. Have you heard of this before? Thank you

The LED indicator light for your Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor # SM99251 only gets power when the brake light switch of the tow vehicle is activated. If you spliced into the incorrect wire or used quick splice connectors and aren't getting the best connection then it could just not be receiving the signal to light up. If you could tell me the year/make/model of the vehicle you're towing I'd be happy to look into the brake light switch wire for that specific vehicle to ensure it's wired correctly.

This system requires that the lights in the motorhome illuminate and that you're actually moving for the G-Force controller to feel the inertia as the motorhome slows down to activate. If you were just pushing on the brake pedal while in park then you wouldn't get the system or indicator light to activate. To test the system while sitting in park you would need to pull the breakaway plug.
