Will The Spring Bars For Reese Dual Cam Fall Off The Cam At Extreme Steering Angles?
Question:
With the dual cam anti-way such as this if Im backing the trailer at an extreme angle or turning at an extreme turn angle will the bars have a tendency to pop out of the cam? A friend of mine has this issue with his trailer and sway control system.

Expert Reply:
I personally have never seen the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66084 allow for the spring bars to fall off the Reese Dual Cam # RP26002 mounts. This may have been a instance where the system was installed incorrectly and the cams were installed where they thought they should sit rather than verifying the measurements in the instructions.
When you need to achieve very extreme steering angles with any weight distribution which incorporates a friction sway I like to remove the bars as this will help make steering the trailer easier and prevent additional wear on the components.
