Do 2024 Kia Telluride's Come With A Trailer Hitch And Wiring Already Included
Question:
Looking to buy a 2024 Kia Telluride. Having a hard time getting straight answers on the towing setup. Kia dealers are weirdly cagey about it for some reason. Sounds like OEM hitch is unlikely but we can buy a Curt hitch here that will fit. Im a little more confused about wiring harness. Do the 2024s come with a 7pin preinstalled or do we have to go with an aftermarket solution? If the latter, what are my options?

Kia Tellurides are in our install shop all the time for hitch and wiring installs since Kia typically will not install them at the factory. Manufacturers use "tow package" as a buzz word to charge you more typically so you'll want to get explicit descriptions of what is included with the vehicle. If it doesn't come with a trailer hitch then you can install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13420.
For wiring you would first need to install a 4-pole wire harness like the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. Once this harness is installed you can then install a 7-way with the # ETBC7 and a brake controller of your choosing. Personally, I prefer the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR, but if you have something else that you'd prefer or have one you want to transfer from a different vehicle that's fine too.
