Often times when you have intermittent wiring issues it is either caused by a short in the wiring or a bad ground connection. It is unlikely a magnet would cause this since it is intermittent. I recommend starting by checking to see if you have the same issues with another truck or trailer. This will help you to determine if the issues is with the wiring on your 2013 Ram or your Jayco camper. As the issue is intermittent it can be rather difficult to test the wiring for continuity using a Multimeter # PT29ZR, and often requires you to physically trace the wiring looking for any damage inside grommets or straps. You can add Dielectric Grease # 11755 to all your connectors as I have seen the issue sometimes caused by a shout inside the actual connector.
