Solution for an Advent Air Conditioner Replacing A Coleman AC With A Compressor That Won't Run
Question:
I installed an Advent ac unit to replace the original coleman mach unit. With the advent adapter installed everything works except the compressor will not run. There is 120vac to the relay and 12vdc to the yellow terminal on the controller. I have tried 2 different controllers with the same result. I can jumper the 120vac contacts on the relay and it will work. Im stumped.

I spoke with Advent and they said the only fix is to use the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACRG15. This will remove the Coleman from the equation allowing for the advent upper unit to communicate with the advent control box and the advent thermostat.
They go onto say that there is no way of troubleshooting the way the Advent, Coleman and Coleman adapter all work together, unfortunately.
