Does 2021 Ford Ranger Tow Package Have Existing Wiring for a Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 21 Ford ranger with tow package. Since I have a 7 pin plug would installation of a brake controller involve only plugging in the harness and mounting the controller? Thanks

Yes, you will be able to connect a brake controller pretty easily to your 2021 Ford Ranger since it has the factory tow package. For the Ranger Ford decided to bundle up some wires up under the driver's side dash near the left-hand kick panel as opposed to having a plug, so you'll be splicing wires together as opposed to just plugging up an adapter.
For a traditional controller you can't go wrong with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 but I actually recommend picking up the Curt Echo In-Line Wireless Brake Controller # C79DR instead.
I really like this Echo controller because it tees in behind the 7-Way connector at the back of your truck and then the module is installed back there as well. You then adjust and monitor your brakes with an app on your phone so you won't be messing with having a controller sitting in the cab with you. The Manual Override Button # C83HR is something you can also pick up so that you don't even have to touch your phone once the brakes are properly adjusted and you're heading down the road.
