The etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plates # e44ZR is designed to connect to Roadmaster crossbar-style baseplates. You would need the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 1415-1 (U-Channel Bumper) or # RM-521424-4 (Unlimited, Rubicon & double tube bumper) in order to connect the tow bar to your 1996 Jeep Wrangler.
