Does Exhaust Shield Need to Be Trimmed to Install the Draw Tite Gooseneck in a 2006 Chevy Silverado

will there be any trimming or other mods that will have to be made like the heat shield being cut out as mentioned in the blue ox hitch?

I checked the installation instructions for the Hide-A-Goose Hitch part # 9465-34 and you will need to trim the exhaust shield to install this hitch. I attached a picture that I took from the instructions (that I also attached a link to) that shows the area where it should be trimmed.
