Is Swagman Upright a Decent Roof Bike for Factory Bars of 2022 Volvo XC90

Question:

Hi, I’m looking for an inexpensive roof bike rack, that I’ll use once or twice a year to carry 3+ bikes on my 2022 XC90 Recharge factory bars, while my hitch is being used to pull a trailer. Most racks I’ve seen cost $200-300. How are these 1/3 that price, and are they worth it? Thanks.

The Swagman Upright # S64720 is not what I would recommend to anyone as my first choice for a roof bike rack as it honestly feels a little flimsy which doesn't instill a lot of confidence. Now with that said we don't know of any customers who have said this rack let their bikes go on the highway so perhaps that means it is perfectly safe.

I realize there's a pretty big price difference but if you were wanting a solid roof bike rack that is a lot more stable I would recommend going with the Malone Pilot part # MPG2103.
