Determining How Much Weight Trailer Tires Can Hold
Question:
I am looking for new trailer tires. Currently have Ds and will probably switch to Rs. My question is the weight limit. The trailers limit is 3klbs. So does the tire need to be rated for 3000lbs or 1500lbs based on the weight distribution?

The weight of your trailer will be divided between your tires. So if you have two of the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # AM32395 you would have an overall capacity of 3,640 lbs at 50 psi. Basically you multiply the 1,820 lb capacity by the number of tires.
