Can 15" Wheels On A Cargo Trailer Be Replaced With 13" Wheels For A Shorter Height

Question:

I am considering downsizing my cargo trailer wheels and tires from 15 steel to 13 aluminum wheels. Assuming I have the same bolt pattern, will this work? I lack about an 1-2 of getting my trailer in my garage. Also I want to upgrade to radial tires.

15" and 13" can both use the same bolt pattern but there are a lot of other possible sizes so you'll first want to verify the bolt pattern. I've attached a help article below that will walk you through measuring for the pattern. You'll also need to keep in mind that lowering the size of the wheels can also lower the capacity so you wouldn't be able to haul as much weight as you currently can. For example, the wheel of the Karrier # AM32001HWTB you were looking at has a 1,740lb capacity, whereas most 15" wheels will have a 2150lb capacity.

If you can tell me the bolt pattern I'd be happy to pick out some options for you.
