Solution for Timbren Silent Ride Type Suspension Installed on Trailer with 2 inch Square Axles
Question:
Hi - I have a 12’ aluminum boat on a trailer with leaf springs. The boat weighs about 500 pounds with motor and gear in it. The leaf springs beat the boat up terribly, in fact it knocked out the lag bolts/screws on one bunk and it fell off while driving. I have seen other QandA and reviews on the Timbren Silent Ride suspension and am interested in it, but the trailer has a square axle that is only 1 1/2 “. Is there a Timbren product that would fit? Is changing to a 2” axle an option? I would consider that since the bouncing and damage is a big problem.

I have a great idea I think you'll like but we don't have a Silent Ride that will work with any size square axles as that is the standard shape of axles. Instead a Timbren Axle Less kit like the part # A20RS545 would be a great option to replace the axle and your suspension with a similar setup that I think you'll really like. This uses the same rubber spring setup for the suspension and also completely replaces the axle.
