Fastway e2 Weight Distribution for a 16' Aluminum Enclosed Motorcycle Trailer Weighing 4,000LBS
Question:
Will this hitch work on a 2040 lb dry weight aluminum motorcycle box trailer with a 16foot box. Pulling with a 2017 Ram 1500, or dont I need a wd/sway system. Payload is around 1500 to 2000 lbs.

You will want to use the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 for your trailer. This system is rated for a trailer up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs. The e2 # FA94-00-1061 you found is rated for trailers up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs which your trailer will not come close to reaching. Having the heavier bars will not allow the system to work properly and could lead to sway or weight distribution issues.
You will need either a 2" # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" # EQ91-00-6100 ball to match your trailer coupler. A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the hitch ball if you do not have a socket this size already.
