Recommended Tekonsha Brake Controller Adapter for a 2022 Ford Explorer

I have a tekonsha brake controller hard wired into my current vehicle. Im planning g to buy a 21-23 model Ford Explorer with a tow package that includes the 7 pin connector. Is there an adapter harness I could get to plug in my current controller to the Explorer?

Yes, there is an port for a plug in adapter in the latest generation of the Ford Explorer with the factory tow package. To move a Tekonsha brake controller between vehicles you'll want the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3035-P.

The port will be located behind the appearance panel on the driver's side. Just remove the two screws to get the panel to drop, you are looking for a grey plug. The grey plug is sometimes taped together to another plug. It is typically found about where your right knee would be if you were sitting in the drivers seat.
