Upgrading Short 2,000 lb Axle to a 3,500 lb Axle

Question:

Hello. im looking for a 3500 lb axel with a 57inch hub to hub and 46 3/4inch spring center for a 5 lug 4 1/2inch lug pattern to replace a 2000 lb axel.

To upgrade your 2K axle to a 3.5K axle you'll either have to use one of our Timbren kits (listed below) or you'll have to reach out to your local RV dealer or trailer shop to custom order you an axle with those specs and that weight capacity. Here are the options we have for you to choose from:

- Timbrens with Idler Hubs # A35RS545
- Timbrens with Brakes # A35RS545E

I personally like the Timbren axle kits because they put their own twist on trailer suspension and it not only works but it's an improvement from the standard leaf spring system we normally see.
