Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System for Monitoring Traffic Behind a 5th Wheel
Question:
I would like to monitor the traffic behind me. The camera would be mounted in the back of a 5th wheel travel trailer looking out the back window. Trailer is 36 long. Can the camera be attached to a 12v supply in the trailer for extended use 5 - 6 hours of traveling a day? Thanks!

Yes, I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer and you can use the Swift Hitch Trailer Hitch Aligner Portable Wireless Camera System with Night Vision, item # 04928, for an extended period of time, if you hard wire the camera unit at the rear of your vehicle. You will need to remove the camera charging connector from the charging harness and use a 2 amp slow blow inline fuse for wiring the camera. You could then use the 12 volt cigarette lighter plug for the monitor, or hard wire it with the fuse mentioned above. You can also get a second power cable for the system, item # PC01, so you do not have to modify the charging harness. You can then wire a cigarette lighter plug at the rear or use the system for another application.
