How to Determine Axle Replacement For Trailer With 5 on 4-1/4 Hub Pattern & No Wheels Available
Question:
I have an older trailer that I believe is 5 x 4 1/4. Do you have any wheels and tires?

There are no wheels with a 5 on 4-1/4" bolt pattern available so what you'll need to do is switch out the axle to get one that has a hub with a standard, modern bolt pattern. To do this, you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; I have added a link below to a video which walks you through how to measure. The other thing you need to know is the weight capacity of the axle you need, which should match or exceed the GVWR of your trailer.
For example, the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern # e82GR has a 2,000 lb capacity and measures 60 inches from hub face to hub face and 48 inches from spring center to spring center.
