Replacement For Prodigy RF Brake Controller That no Longer Works

Question:

My prodigy rf worked for 2 years but now the remote will not pair. TV is jeep wrangler 2021. Checked 7 blade connector on TV and confirmed 12V power is being provided. Trailer lights work running lights, turn signals, brake lights. TV fuses for 7 blade circuits are good. Tried both pairing protocols one with trailer connected to tongue-mounted RF controller and one where the controller is unplugged during pairing but results are C.e. Is the controller bad?

Your Prodigy RF is indeed bad, and this controller is a notorious pain so you'll want to replace it. A much simpler, working wireless brake controller that you can use instead is the Echo from Curt:

- Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180

All you do is plug the # C51180 into your 7-way and use your phone to set it up and you're done. Super simple, no convoluted pairing process like the RF and you'll have yourself a consistently functioning brake controller.
