Will the Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # CAB-C5G Handle Long Trips

Question:

I have a a hide-a-ball built-in on my 2006 dodge 3500. I am going up 1200 miles will the CAB-C5G handle that type duty. I really like having my truck bed without a fifth wheel hitch taking up so much room.

You should have no problem using the Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # CAB-C5G, on a 1,200 mile trip as long as the gross weight of your trailer remains under 20,000 lbs and the pin weight is under 4,000 lbs. We had one customer comment that he has been using his adapter for over 20,000 miles and it is still working great.

The only note I would add to this adapter is that there will be a noticeable difference in the ride quality if you are used to towing with a fifth wheel hitch. This adapter can handle the workload, but a fifth wheel hitch provides more stability for the pin box resulting in a more comfortable ride. I use a gooseneck adapter like the CAB-C5G and I can tell you there is a difference, but it is nice to have an empty bed.
