Recommended Trailer Jack For Boat Loaded With Tackle And Gear
Question:
I m looking to replace an 800lb DandL jack that has a bit of play in it. When I park my boat, I have to move it manually into place and I want a solid jack that doesnt move or feel like it is going to snap. It needs to hold a boat full of tackle and gear and be pushed around safely. Is this the jack for me or do you suggest another one? Thank you.

The Fulton Trailer Jack, part # FTJ12000101, you referenced is a 1200 lb capacity swivel marine jack that has a 6 inch wheel. It has a 10 inch lift and is designed to bolt-on trailer tongues that measure up to 3 by 5 inches. The bracket height when retracted is 13 inches and when extended it is 23 inches. From the mounting bracket to the top of the jack you will need 11 inches of clearance. This jack should provide the strength and stability you are looking for.
We also offer a dual wheel jack, part # FXPD15L, that offers even more stability and simple maneuverability. This jack has dual, thermoplastic 6 inch wheels and has a weight capacity of 1500 lbs. The mounting bracket measures 12-3/4 inches when retracted and 24-1/4 inches when extended with a total lift of 12 inches.
Both of these jacks have a convenient pin that allows the jack to swivel so that it is parallel on the trailer when traveling. I have attached links to product review videos for both of these jacks.
