Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 4,000 lbs Trailer

Question:

Hello I have a 2019 toyota tacoma. I am looking for a weight distribution hitch with sway bars. The travel trailer I am looking to purchase would be a 2023 Coleman Lantern LT17b. It weighs about 3000lbs dry with a tongue weight of 385lbs. What hitch should I go with?

The best weight distribution system for your Coleman Lantern trailer is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37060ET. It looks like your trailer weighs just under 4,000 lbs when fully loaded. Tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight so you're looking at around 400 lbs - 600 lbs.

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System item # EQ37060ET works with trailers that have a tongue weight between 200 lbs to 600 lbs. This system will be perfect for your Coleman. The built in sway control will keep your trailer in line with your Tacoma when you make sudden moves or get passed by a semi. This system includes a 2" shank and a 2" hitch ball.
