What Would Cause The Ground Wire To Spark On Kwikee Step Controller When Attaching To Frame?

Kwikee step control unit #909510. Why does the green ground wire spark when I try to connect/screw it on to the step?

There are only 2 reasons the green ground wire would spark on the Control Unit # LC379146 when you are installing it on your step. The first would be an issue with the wiring for your steps or the control unit itself is damaged internally. I recommend checking the wiring for your steps first to determine that only the wires which should have 12 volt power have power. There could be a short in the harness going to the steps which is causing an issue. If you let me know what exact set of steps you have I can verify exactly what wires should have power in the event you no longer have the manual for the steps.
