Does the Angle of the Head Assembly of the Reese Slider Hitch # RP30084 Affect Pivoting Ability

Question:

Why is this slider angled on the top? It seems like the angle would limit the pivot range of the head when towing. From the video it looks tipped backwards quite a bit. Wont the head basically bottom out when pivoting forward? If the truck sagged at all it seems like it would be even worse.

Although the angle of the head assembly appears to angle back this does not negatively affect the ability of the head to pivot. The pivoting range of the head assembly was designed with the angle of the slider unit in mind and does not cause any issue. I confirmed this with my contact at Reese.

If you wanted a very similar setup with an upgraded slider that has the head crossmember not angled check out the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider # RP30083. Round tube sliders tend to bind up less than square tube.

I attached a review video for this hitch as well.
