Troubleshooting Trailer 7-Way Connector With Trailer Lights Not Working
Question:
Have a 5 wire going into a 7 wire plug lights wont work.

You'll need to check any fuses, connections, and the wiring itself for anything that needs to be fixed or replaced - this includes the grounds for your tow vehicle and trailer.
If all of that looks good then you also need to check your 7-Way connectors to see if they have any corrosion or damage and replace accordingly. If the contacts just need to be cleaned up a bit I also recommend adding Dielectric Grease # 11755 to help protect the contacts.
