Recommended Equalizer Upgrade For a Tandem Axle Trailer With 5-3/4" Wide and 2" Tall Equalizer

Question:

What would you recommend to replace an equalizer that is 5 3/4inch Long by 2inch tall? The trailer weight is #5500 so would assume the axle rating is #6000. I would like to go with a cushioned system. I would also like to replace the shackles and bolts, i measured the shackles at 2 3/8inch with 9/16inch bolts.

I recommend installing the MORryde Rubber Equalizers # MR87ZR on your trailer. This equalizer is slightly longer and taller than your current equalizer but will still work with your suspension. We have either the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR46ZR which fits with standard hangers or the Correct Track Kit # MR58ZR which is for trailers that have adjustable hangers. Both kits use shackle straps which are 2-1/4" on center. This is probably the size you have as thinner shackle straps tend to get longer as the whole elongates.
