We can help you with both a hitch and hitch-mount bike rack for your 2014 Nissan Murano Platinum.
We offer 2-inch hitches for your vehicle and I suggest the etrailer # e65AR. This Class III hitch offers a substantial 400-lb tongue weight rating (tongue weight is the downward force on a hitch) that makes this an excellent choice for use with a hitch-mount bike carrier. This hitch also allows use of a hitch-mount cargo carrier if that is ever needed.
There are two basic types of hitch-mount carriers, hanging and platform. There are also racks that tilt away from the vehicle for easier access. Hanging carriers suspend the bikes from their frames and platform racks support the bikes at their wheels. Generally hanging carriers are lighter in weight and are a great choice for standard bike frames, although use of an adapter bar such as # TH982XT will allow such bikes to be used on a hanging carrier (please see the linked video). If you happen to have recumbent bikes or bikes without standard frame construction then a platform type may be a better option. Do note that platform-style carriers will extend further out from the rear of the Murano; if you happen to have a very steep driveway then a hanging carrier might be a better choice.
I have included a link to our main page where you can select either type and use the filters at the left-hand side of the page to narrow the product results to those with the features you prefer. The linked article on hitch bike racks may help you consider your needs and preferences. It also includes a simple measurement you can take to ensure the rack you choose will offer enough clearance at the Murano back bumper.
In a platform style carrier I suggest the sturdy steel Doubletrack Pro XT from Thule, part # TH92BJ. This folding rack also includes locks for the rack itself and your bikes and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
