Does Hole in Side of Spindle Mean It Is an E-Z- Lube Spindle

Question:

I recently had our trailer rebuilt. The used dexter 84 axles and put on Kodiak pro oil bath lube caps all around. I’d like to know if I have easy lube spindles. There’s no zirk but the might have removed it because of the oil bath. There’s a hole in the end of the spindle, but it’s off center. There’s also a hole near the rear seal on the spindle. I’ve got photos…. Thanks.

It sounds like the holes match up to what standard Dexter Axle E-Z Lube Spindles have, like what we see with the 95" 3,500 lb axle # 7359765 (which uses #84 spindles). I'm attaching a side-view photo of this spindle for you to check out.

Oil bath hubs are supposed to run cooler than grease setups so if that's what you already have then I actually recommend sticking with it unless you're having issues with something.
