Where Does Fifth Wheel Hitch Jaw Center Normally Align with Rear Axle  

Question:

I have a 2005 2500hd silverado with a long bed. Im installing 16K husky stationary fith wheel. Drawing a line for the center of the axel Im showing the center of the fifth wheel pin 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches in front of the axel. Am I OK. Thank you for your time and trouble.

Yeah you're totally fine. Typically the center of the fifth wheel jaws will end up either right over the rear axle or a couple inches forward so your measurement of 1-1/2 inch to 1-3/4 inch is perfectly fine.
