Will Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag Fit a 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx

Question:

I am trying to decide how this will work on my 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx. I have never used any external lugage carrier and I do not have a roof rack. I have seen the clips that can be used with the hatch back but am unsure if this will work on my car. Do you have any knowledge about this? Have you had any complaints about paint scratching or rubbing with this system. My huband is concerned about potential damage to the vehicle. Thanks!

Fit of the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag, # RL100B90, on your 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx will most likely not be an issue since that vehicle has a similar shape at the back as some SUVs and crossover vehicles. But to be sure, the bag measures 40 inches across, 20 inches front to back, and 28 inches tall. You can compare these measurements to the available space on the back of the vehicle to make sure it will fit back there.

The bag is made of vinyl and the straps have padded sections so when it is properly attached to a vehicle there should not be any rubbing that would damage the vehicle finish. But any time you put anything on a vehicle there is still going to be a chance that the paint could be scratched. So you will want to make sure the bag and vehicle are clean where they touch each other. A coat of wax on this area of the vehicle will also help protect it.

We have not had any complaints about the function of the bag or about it marring a vehicle surface. You mentioned the car clips and since you do not have a roof rack you will need to use them as well, # RL100605.
