How To Wire In The DC Side Of The Progressive Dynamics PD4135K Power Center

Question:

This is replacing my WFCO, which had a separate 40a fuse with no wire leads for polarity protection, but the 12v mains was hooked to a 30a fuse on it. On this replacement PD4135, the 40a polarity protection fuse DOES have a wire lead coming from it and the manual says to hook the 12 mains to this 40a fuse. Is that actually correct? I am so confused

The Progressive Dynamics 4100 Series RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4135K is going to wire in the following fashion:

On the front of the unit you'll have a green, white, and black wire. The green wire will connect to your ground bus bar, the white will connect to the negative bus bar, and the black will connect to a circuit breaker to power the DC side/converter.

On the back of the unit you'll have a red wire that's labeled "001" that will connect to the positive terminal on the trailer battery and a white wire that will be connected to the negative terminal of the trailer battery. The remaining red wire labeled "002" is rated for 30 amps and the rest of the black wires are rated for 20 amps. These will be your connection point for any DC appliances you need to power through the power center.

The instructions are definitely not the easiest to read and understand, but having installed a few myself I have a good understanding on how these units need to be wired in. If you have anymore questions please feel free t submit them via our ask the expert link and I'd be happy to answer them.
