Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2,200 lbs Travel Trailer

Question:

I just purchased a 1984 Coachman, body CT, model TL that is 16foot long. What would be my trailers weight and tounge weight? What would be a good set up for a hitch. Thanks

From what I could find online it looks like a 16' long 1984 Coachman travel trailer weighs 2,170 lbs. This would put your tongue weight between 220 lbs and 325 lbs. With this in mind, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37040ET. This system works with trailer's that have a tongue weight up to 400 lbs.

The Equal-i-zer system includes a 2" shank and a 2" hitch ball. It also has built in sway control that will help keep your trailer in line with your tow vehicle when you make sudden moves or get passed on the highway.
