Can B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler # BWTEXA4200 be Used on Flat Bed Truck

Question:

Hello, I wonder if this can be used ok on a flatbed with a recessed ball. BandW says no, and that the heel will hit the flatbed floor. But Ive also noticed this question asked previously, and etrailer said itll work. I also see a review where someone is using it for this purpose. Immediately ahead of the trapdoor on my flatbed I have a 23inch tall fuel tank. So, if this works, I also wonder if the trailer will be able to lean forward to the couplers maximum angle, and not hit the tank which is about 7inch ahead of the ball. And of course, can the trailer lean backwards to the couplers maximum angle, without the heel hitting the flatbeds floor. Thanks!

In general it's the safest to say that the B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler # BWTEXA4200 shouldn't be used with flat bed trucks since the heel of the tube would hit the truck bed most likely. BUT if the cut area for the hitch was big enough (hard to say exactly how big) this could still work. The offset is 10 inches so you'd most likely need a cut out area at least 20 inch by 20 inch but probably slightly bigger.
