Comparing Hitch Ball Heights For 2" B&W Tow & Stow 3- Ball Mount For MultiPro/MultiFlex GM Tailgates

Question:

Are the BandW 2inch models 2.5inch and 4.5inch for GM Multipro tailgate capable of being set in 0 and 1inch or .5inch and 1.5 positions? If so, is the 4.5inch model too low to use on a stock height 1500 Denali? Also, while users of 2.5inch receiver models seem happy with the fit, many people say the 2inch model fits too loose in the receiver. Can anything be done about that in this particular Multipro tailgate model?

The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount 2-1/2" Drop # BW64FR and 4-1/2" Drop # BW49FR both adjust in 1" height increments. Both of these will have at least 1-1/2" of drop in the highest position when positioned in the drop position. So the 2-1/2" drop hitch can only be placed with 1-1/2" or 2-1/2" of drop. The 4-1/2" drop hitch can be placed with 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 3-1/2" or 4-1/2" of drop. For a stock height GMC Sierra 1500 Denali I recommend sticking with the 2-1/2" drop hitch. The 4-1/2" drop is best for the AT4 and lifted models which have additional ground clearance.

To help eliminate hitch rattle the Gen-Y Iron Grip Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin # GY39FR can be used. This is the best option since the B&W has a solid shank and the hitch sits so tightly against the receiver for tailgate clearance.
