How to Safely Charge AGM Batteries With Power Center

Question:

My current wiring in my pickup camper is tied into my truck 12 volt dc to recharge my AGM battery while driving from one unpowered camp site to the next unpowered camp site. Im putting in the PD4135k converter so I can upgrade to a Lithium battery and get the correct recharging from shore power. Do I need to remove this connection to the alternator and lose this capability? If not, how do I wire the vehicle 12 v+ into this system? I guess what Im asking is whether I can only recharge my lithium battery from shore power going forward?

You can still have 12V power coming from your towed vehicle but if you'll be installing the Progressive Dynamics 4100 Series RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4135K then you'll also need the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Inverter w/ Transfer Switch # PD94FR.

What the inverter and transfer switch does is allow you to safely charge your batteries from your tow vehicle, but also it will switch the power over to shore power when you hook up at your camp site.

I've attached some videos for you to check out as well.
