Recommendations For Reducing Rear End Sag On a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4X4

Question:

Looking to add something on th rear suspension to keep the back of the truck from sagging so much. We have a 2017 Silverado 1500 4wd and tow a 26’ travel trailer. It’s 4800 lbs and a tongue weight of 501lbs. What would you recommend to help the rear springs. It tows good, just looking to help out thr back a little

I recommend using a Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 when connecting your travel trailer to your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 since you are only getting the sag when towing. This is the best route to go since a weight distribution transfers the hitch weight more evenly across your Silverado rather than just reducing the rear end sag. With the weight more evenly transferred across your suspension it will provide better braking and stability.

If you also haul heavy loads then you may consider the Air Lift helper springs. You will need the Kit # AL88211 if you have an 8' bed or a Kit # AL88204 for either the 5-3/4' or 6-1/2' bed lengths. Both these kits have internal jounce bumpers to help reduce bouncing that is common with other air spring options. A Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL58WQ will allow you to control the pressure in your air springs from your smart phone using the Air Lift app. It also features a smart manifold which will monitor the air pressure in the springs while you drive and automatically make changes if the pressure changes by more than 3psi from your settings.
