I am looking for a custom adapter to add an extra 4 pin plug to the harness of an 2010 F-150 FX4 w/trailer tow package. It has the 7 pin plug and 4 pin plug at the hitch.

You could add an extra 4-Pole connector at the rear of your 2010 ford F-150 by using a circuit tester and probing the vehicle trailer connector wiring to find the correct circuits to splice into. We have a 4-Pole Hardwire Kit Including Circuit Tester, item # 18252, that has the circuit tester and four wire taps, which is all you would need to complete the installation.
You may also want to use a mounting bracket to secure the connector when not in use. The Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat, item # 18144, would work to secure the connector.
