Does It Matter Where A Single Bike Is Mounted On A 2-Bike Bike Rack
Question:
When only transporting one bike, does it matter whether it is on the inside or outside rack of a Swagman Chinook Hitch Mount bike rack? The rack is mounted to a 2018 Honda CRV.

Expert Reply:
When mounting bikes on a rack like the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S64683 you should always mount the first bike on the inside closest to the vehicle. Adding weight further out on the rack can decrease the stability and cause more bounce in the rack, so when loading only one bike you would want to still place it on the inner cradles.
